Sensitive and acne-type skin exfoliation

Skin exfoliation is a very important step of your skin care system. Choosing the method of skin exfoliation you should always take into account your skin type. Different skin types react in a different way to different skin peels. The reaction of your skin depends greatly on it color, thickness, functioning of glands on its surface and presence of such imperfections as scars, acne and sun damage.

Sensitive skin exfoliation:

Sensitive skin often gets red and irritated because of daily stress, pollution, incorrect diet, hormonal fluctuations and other factors. When you exfoliate sensitive skin you should be very careful and choose the most gentle skin peels.

If your skin is sensitive, it’s better to start with enzyme exfoliation or chemical peels and avoid mechanical exfoliation products which are too irritating to the sensitive skin. In addition to these methods you can use retinol-A and TGF Beta-1 that assist cell turnover and antioxidants. At first your skin may be too reactive to the exfoliation, but the reactiveness will diminish after some period of time.

Also choose the skin peels with natural ingredients like oatmeal because this skin type is unpredictable in reaction to chemicals.

The exfoliation for sensitive skin type should be done only one time a week.

After the exfoliation procedure use moisturizing cream or lotion which calms irritated skin and a good sunscreen.

Acne-type skin exfoliation:

In acne-type skin dead cells and oil stuck to the skin surface and within the follicle and clog pores. It causes formation of blackheads and further inflamed blemishes. Regular exfoliation can help to clean out clogged pores and avoid these problems.

If you have acne-type skin, you should be very careful with exfoliating procedures. Always avoid mechanical exfoliators which contain abrasive particles and can cause further irritation of acne-type skin.

For this type of skin the most suited are BHA containing products, usually these skin peels are very effective to treat the skin with acne and blackheads. It’s better to use products which contain salicylic acid, enzyme peels and clay masks. Salicylic acid helps to unclog pores and kill the bacteria and thus treats the skin.

Exfoliating procedure should be done once a week or twice a week if your skin doesn’t get too irritated after the procedure.

Do not overdo with exfoliation because it can make your skin more oily and cause more acne.

After exfoliating use an antibacterial lotion, moisturizer and sunscreen.
